16 May 2019

On Tuesday, May 14th, 2019, at the building of Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency, KNKS has carried out the Launching of the Indonesian Islamic Economics Masterplan 2019-2024. In the launch event, one of the agendas was the signing of a memorandum of understanding regarding "Halal Marketplace Development and Sharia Financial Products through the Digital Marketplace Platform". KNKS invites current marketplace players, Bukalapak and Tokopedia to provide halal products and sharia financial products in each e-commerce. Together with Bukalapak and Tokopedia, KNKS is committed to creating a marketplace concept that can accommodate the needs of Muslims in Indonesia.

KNKS wants to build an e-commerce ecosystem that supports the sale of halal products through the digital marketplace platform. Users are expected to be easier to find and identify products with halal certification numbers that have been included in product descriptions on e-commerce. In addition, users can also be easily invest in Islamic instruments such as Islamic mutual funds through e-commerce platforms. It is hoped that in the future more e-commerce players will join in this ecosystem.
